For some of us the summer brings with it a certain aversion to hot beverages. And so the ritual of sipping a cup of coffee at home loses a bit of its appeal. But don’t worry. If you know how to make good coffee and you use a high quality blend, it can be excellent served cold as well.
Here are our simple tips for preparing a truly professional-tasting ice coffee.
- Use high quality blends
In some cases, cooling coffee means losing some of the aroma and flavours that characterise it. But if you use a high quality blend, then this loss is more subtle or non-existent. Try our individually roasted coffee blends! - Be careful with the sugar
Everyone knows that if you use raw sugar to sweeten a cold beverage, there’s a chance it won’t dissolve. That’s why if you really must use it, it needs to be added when the beverage is still hot. The most simple solution is, however, to use liquid cane sugar. - Watch the temperature
If you plan to use ice, make sure that the coffee has cooled to the right temperature. If the coffee is too hot it will melt the ice too quickly and water down the final beverage excessively.
Now that you’re familiar with these small and very useful secrets, all that’s left is to put them to use with these simple ideas.
